 Why is GMAT important?
The GMAT is a standardized examination that is used by the graduate business programs for assessing the specific skills of the prospective students to determine their skills for academic success. How’s GMAT taken?
GMAT is offered every year-round in different testing locations across the United States. The specific dates differ by the testing center. The GMAT can be administered through individual workstations in the testing room. There are two sections, Verbal and Quantitative; both are known as the adaptive tests. These test’s algorithm will evaluate every answer and chooses the next series of questions based on the student’s skill and response level.
How this graded or what score means?
The examinees have around 3 hours to complete the first four sections of this examination. The complete breakdown of time is given for each section:
1.    Analytical Writing Assessment around 30 minutes
2.   Quantitative around 75 minutes
3.    Verbal around 75 minutes
4.    Integrated Reasoning around 30 minutes
The GMAT test is administered as the computer adaptive test, it means this test adjusts as the candidates answer every question and decide the kind of questions to ask when the exam progresses. The algorithm makes the score based on number of right and wrong questions and difficulty level of every question answered.
Section Scores.
Every section of this test is given their individual score. The Quantitative and Verbal sections each receive the raw score from 0 to 60, at one-point increments. Every essay in Analytical Writing Assessment will be scored twice at 0 to 6 and at half-point increments. Integrated Reasoning section will be scored on 1 to 8, at one-point increments.
Total Score.
Using the undisclosed scoring system, raw scores of Verbal & Quantitative sections will be translated in the total score, which ranges from 200 to 800.
Percentile Score.
The test takers get the percentile score for every section and for the overall total. The percentile ranks represent a percentage of the test takers (over 3-year average) that scored below its test taker.
